The field of communication focuses on how people communicate as individuals, in society, and in the workplace. The program at Mount Mercy is an outstanding interdisciplinary major that integrates classroom study with outside internships. Communication students are encouraged to join the Communication club, FACE or the Mount Mercy Times. Both are great opportunities to gain invaluable experience while at Mount Mercy. Complementary majors/minors include journalism, multimedia/design, public relations, business with a marketing emphasis and English.
AWARDS AND SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDS Book Awards Up to eight Book Awards will be awarded at the Spring Graduation ceremony to students who have excelled in specific subject areas while at Columbia College. Outstanding Service Awards Awarded at the Spring Graduation ceremony, these awards recognize students who have participated in extra-curricular activities at Columbia College and volunteered at least 60 hours of exemplary service. SCHOLARSHIPS Columbia College Academic Scholarships Each semester, four scholarships worth $1000.00 are awarded to outstanding academic students.
