You will develop the skills and knowledge to critically appraise these activities.
In lectures you will explore theoretical aspects of advertising: advertising principles, regulations, structures and responsibilities, media choice, branding theory, the influence of the past on contemporary advertising, the impact of globalisation and technology, and the ongoing social and ethical debates and dilemmas that surround advertising practice.
In seminars you will learn of recent industry developments and examine the wider issues involved in creating and managing advertising. You will develop an understanding of how target markets, budgets, production, consumer research, media selection and stakeholders impact and influence advertising outcomes.
