The programs offered in this department are designed to provide knowledge and experience in the pure and applied areas of, computer science, information science and information technology. Beyond this, the department seeks to imbue in its students Christian values, moral soundness, and professional ethics. The Department of Mass Communication at ISU was established in August, 2000. Basically, programs in communication are offered by universities in northern Taiwan. Our program is the first bachelor degree program in mass communication in southern Taiwan. We believe more programs in communication should be established in southern Taiwan to help remedy the imbalance of communication programs that existe in northern and southern parts of Taiwan. Students can enter our department in a variety of ways:through college entrance examination, personal application, high school recommendation, or university recruitment. Students who graduate receive a BA degree in Mass Communication.
This certificate is designed to provide advanced studies distinct from existing M.A. programs in the department (i.e., public relations, organizational communication, etc.). This certificate is designed to provide enhanced communication skills, abilities and knowledge necessary for effective functioning in business settings. Program prerequisites: Students who apply to this program must be admitted to graduate studies at UNI under the degree status category.
