Degree in Communication Sciences at University of Roma La Sapienza Italy
The Faculty of Communication Sciences in Rome is the first of its kind to be established in a public university. It counts the highest number of professors and researchers in the Italian academic study of communication and mass media. The structure of its education programme gives great importance to media and technologies, but at the same time it has been organised with the awareness that the subjects studied cover any form of expression permeating the contemporary society.
The Faculty offers a wide range of courses, in conjunction with the requirements of the job market. It creates innovative educational programme and a great number of courses. It combines different subjects. It analyses the mass-media system and prepares students in the field of media production, distribution and consumption. It helps to develop a critical approach and an analytical understanding of the different fields of Communication.
The future communicators will explore new frontiers and will have the skills to cope with the incessant evolution of technology, professions and society.

A degree in Communication Studies is of particular value to anyone wishing to pursue a career in advertising, broadcast and print journalism, television broadcasting and editorial work, communication consultancy, human resources, marketing, media consultancy, public relations, web design and publishing. To date, students have undertaken work placements and commissions with regional and local television, radio and newspapers, MTV, and the Cambridge International Film Festival.
Assessment
Methods of assessment include case studies, critical essays, journals and log books, presentations, portfolios, evaluation reports, quantitative and qualitative analysis, plus a range of 'hands-on' methods including internet, print and video production, work placements and commissioned work,
This second level Degree Course lasts 2 years.
To complete the second level Degree Course in Fashion Communications and Systems (Class 59/S) a further 120 credits are required in addition to the 180 credits acquired or recognized in the previous academic course, making a total of 300 credits.

Aesthetic and Scientific Communication: journalism in the field of aesthetic and scientific fields, publishing for on-line and printed publications, museum operators (artistic and scientific exhibits, catalogues, marketing) congress organizers, communication facilitator in public and private institutions, experts in elaborating and transmitting mutimedial events.
Political and Institutional Communication:journalism specialized in politics, law, economics; may contribute to the training of consultants, executives, free-lance specialists in public communication (as press offices, public relations, internal communication, editing office of house-organs and magazines etc.) . Must have full awareness of the mediatic, giuridical, political and social implications at the local, regional and international level and
