The Communication Studies minor is designed for students who are not majoring in Communication Studies but who are interested in supplementing their primary area of study with knowledge of the communication discipline. The minor serves as a wonderful companion to majors in psychology, sociology, political science, and other more practice oriented majors in film and computer graphic design.
The Department of Communication Studies at Concordia University provides the essential tools to navigate our highly competitive, increasingly globalized mediascape. As the first program of its kind in Canada, Communication Studies has an international reputation and a wealth of experience in preparing students for careers in the media and cultural industries. We are committed to the integration of critical theoretical perspectives in communication with hands-on training in media technologies. These tools are designed to help our students make sense of the world and to engage in it through creative and critical practice.
