Presidential Scholarship
Up to $5,000 per year
New scholarships offered to incoming freshman only
Must have a cumlative high school GPA of 3.75 or better
Must have achieved a minimum combined SAT score of 1180 (critical reading and math sections) or composite ACT score of 26
Must demonstrate a range of interest through leadership and extracurricular activities
Must be a US citizen or permanent resident
Must be admitted to SOU and be a full time student during the period of the award
Must maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA at SOU
Selection is made by Financial Aid Scholarship Selection Committee
Deadline is Feb 15

Laurels Scholarship
Up to $2,500 per year
Freshman must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative high school GPA
Freshman must have achieved a minimum combined SAT score of 1100 (critical reading and math sections) or composite ACT score of 24
Transfer students must have a minimum cumulative college GPA of 3.25 and a minimum of 36 transferable quarter credits
Must demonstrate a range of interest through leadership and extracurricular activities
Must be a US citizen or permanent resident
Must be admitted to SOU and be a full time student during the period of award
Selection is made by a special committee
A fee remission scholarship
Deadline is Feb 15

Diversity Scholarship
Full undergraduate resident tuition/fees award
Must meet SOU’s regular admission requirements
Must demonstrate how applicant will contribute to SOU’s diversity
Must demonstrate community involvement and/or a range of interests through leadership and extracurricular activities
Open to Freshman and continuing students
Must be a US citizen or permanent resident
Transfer and continiuing students at SOU must also have a minimum GPA of 2.5 with a minimum of 36 transferable quarter credits
For renewable, the recipient must take a minimum of 12 quarter credit hours each term and make satisfactory progress toward completion of a degree objectives and maintain a 3.0 GPA
Selection is made by the Diversity Scholarship Selection Committee

Provost’s Scholarship
Up to $1,000 per year
Must be a resident of Oregon’s Jackson or Josephine County
Merit and need based
Automatically renewable for 3 years
Must be an admitted first time freshman or transfer student
Must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.25 and transfers a minimum college GPA of 3.0
Must show financial need
Must enroll each term (excluding summer) as a full time student (12+ hours) at SOU and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA
There is no application for this scholarship. To be considered automatically for this scholarship, students must complete their admission and financial aid (FAFSA) application processes by Feb 15

Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Scholarship
Students from the following states will be considered: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
Freshman and transfer students should meet standard SOU admission requirements
Reduces non-resident tuition to 150% of Oregon resident tuition
Priority deadline is Feb 15
Must be awarded as an incoming student; not available retroactively

Financial Aid of Communication at Snow College

The purpose of financial aid is to assist students in paying for their education. It is a need based program, and eligibility is determined by applying to the U.S. Department of Education – Federal Student Aid Programs (www.fafsa.ed.gov). Federal Student aid includes grants, work-study, and loans. Financial aid will not cover all educational expenses, but is designed to assist students in meeting those needs.
